A Bit About Me
Tara is a supervisee in Social Work. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with her Master of Science in Social Work. She has worked with adolescents, adults, and persons with a military affiliation. She has experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, self- esteem issues, trauma, behavioral management, life transitions, and substance use issues.
She has worked in various settings (detoxification and residential facilities, PHP, IOP, and private practice agencies) with clients who were facing adversities in life due to their substance usage.

She utilizes evidence-based modalities such as CBT-MI, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and other modalities to address problematic behaviors, trauma symptoms, and other mental health concerns based on the needs of each client. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University and has a passion for incorporating art into her therapeutic sessions.
As a U.S. Navy Veteran, she understands and enjoys the unique challenges and strengths of working with Veterans and service members who are reintegrating to civilian life. She is passionate about giving back to this community and the First Responders community.

In her own words: “It can be difficult for one to navigate today’s ever-changing world. I am empathetic to the trials that can arise throughout a person’s life. I offer a safe space where together we can explore the challenges that brought you to therapy and help you to gain useful skills to face them.”
